get_guide

Returns the full text of one written guide. For the pages that aren't endpoints: quickstarts, concepts, how-tos. Only published guides are served, so a draft you can see in the studio isn't one an agent can read.

When it's listed

On every server, in every tool mode. A tool group can leave the documentation tools out.

Arguments

slugstringrequired

The guide's slug, from search_docs or list_endpoints.

groupSlugstring

The guide's groupSlug, when the search or list printed one. A guide in a section isn't found without it.

projectIdstring

The project to read. Leave it out: the server already knows its project, and passing another one reads that project instead.

Returns

The guide's title and section, then its text, with headings and bullets kept so the structure survives.

Hints

The annotations a client reads to decide what may run without asking the user.

*Section: MCP Studio*

A tool group is a smaller MCP server cut from the same tools, such as a read-only one for support or a billing one for finance. Agents do better with a short list of relevant tools, and each team can connect only what its job needs.

## Creating a group

In MCP Studio, under Servers, press New group.

Name textHow the group is named, up to 60 characters.

Slug textThe group's part of its address: lowercase letters, digits and -, up to 32 characters.

Description textWhat this server is for, shown beside its install snippet. Up to 500 characters.

Tools with these tags list of tagsIncludes everything with these tags. Tag tools under Customize for agents. New tagged tools join on their own.

And these tools list of toolsAdds individual tools, custom tools, prompts and resources.

Only tools that read on or offLimits the group to tools that read, whatever their tags.

Include the documentation tools on or offAdds search_docs and the rest of the documentation tools.

A project can have up to 20 groups.
