Troubleshooting
Start with doctor. It runs every check you'd otherwise do by trial and error in your AI client, and says what to change for anything that fails.
bash
npx -y @octri/mcp doctor --project-id YOUR_PROJECT_IDtext
PASS Project YOUR_PROJECT_ID
PASS Octri API https://api.octri.dev/api/v1 answered
PASS Operation tools 281 offered, 161 ask the user before each call (needs a client with MCP elicitation)
PASS Base URL https://api.acme.com/v1
PASS Credentials bearer auth: OCTRI_API_TOKEN set
PASS Test call listUsers: 200
INFO Usage reporting On. Set OCTRI_TELEMETRY=0 to turn it off.
Ready. Add the server to your client and ask it about your API.Add --no-call to skip the test call. doctor exits non-zero if anything fails, so it works in CI too. A branded package has the same command: acme-payments-mcp doctor.
If doctor passes but your client shows no tools, the problem is the client's configuration, not the server.
