A video embeds a YouTube or Vimeo video, or plays a video file, in a 16:9 frame with an optional caption below it.

Hosting your own file

A file plays from wherever its URL points, so host it somewhere that serves video quickly, such as your CDN. Keep it short: a reader came to read, and a long video is better linked than embedded.

  • Frame: a still image.
  • Banner: a wide image at the top of a page.
